## Attestations

- [CR Zf 1](<https://linear-a.ai/texts/CRZf1/index.md>): A-MA-WA-SI KA-NI-JA-MI I-JA QA-KI-SE-NU-TI A-TA-DE — the Kinsman who comes forth (divine epithet)

## Commentary

CR(?) Zf 1, a gold pin: A-MA-WA-SI · KA-NI-JA-MI · I-JA · QA-KI-SE-NU-TI · A-TA-DE. A-MA-WA-SI opens the text beside KA-NI-JA-MI 'Creator of the Sea': ʿAmma-wāṣiʾ 'the Kinsman who comes forth', A-MA ʿamma 'kinsman' (as A-MA, A-MA-JA ʿAmmaya) with WA-SI wāṣi(ʾ), active participle of √w-ṣ-ʾ 'go out, appear', the final ʾ unwritten. Every sign is read. The type is A-MI-DA-U ʿAmmī-dāʿ's, and Amorite sets the same verb on El: Yawṣiʾ-ʾIl 'El has come forth' (Gelb AS 21, no. 3574). Rivals: ʾammāṣ 'Strong One', √ʾ-m-ṣ (PS *ʾVmVṣ-), Heb. ʾammîṣ, said of YHWH (Job 9:4, 19; HALOT 63), Ug. ảmṣ (DULAT 71), which leaves -WA- unread; the dedicant's name. One attestation.
