## Attestations

## Commentary

The diptotic genitive in dubur ʾIda, 'the sanctuary of Ida', as Ugaritic /ḥāmiyātu ʾugarita/ 'the walls of Ugarit', where a diptotic place name has genitive -a (Huehnergard 2012, 40, §IV.B.3). Rival: 'toward Ida', with the directive of Ugaritic -h /-ah(a)/ and Hebrew -āh, which final A alone does not show. Bare I-DA is attested. Ida 'the Hand' (see I-DA): Ebla spells 'hand(s)' i-da-a, sign for sign (A.ŠU.LUḪ = ma-wu i-da-a 'water of the hands', GlOS 2, 27, 371); Cretan Greek writes the name Βίδα.
