## Commentary

HT Wa 1006–1013: eight sealings bearing only I-RA₂, in two hands (scribes 52 and 53), from one deposit, Portico 11 and Room 13, LM IB; one context. I ʾi, RA₂ la: feminine ʾilat- 'goddess' (Akk. ilat, Ug. ỉlt 'goddess', DULAT 63), the final -t unwritten. Rival: masculine ʾila 'god', Ug. il /ʾilu/ 'god; El' (Huehnergard 2012, 41), the Amorite name element *ilāh, almost always first in a name (Huffmon 1965, 162; I-la-sa-lim, Sa-mu-ū-i-la, 165), and Ebla's bare i-la 'the god' as a name (Pagan 1998, row 2700).
