## Commentary

HT Wa 1020, its only attestation; HT 88 has none. Yatana 'he gave', the G 3ms perfect of √y-t-n in a name or title slot, a theophoric name element, Yatana-DN. Ugaritic keeps ytn where Hebrew has n-t-n: G /yatana/, prefix /yittinu/ with the n assimilated (Huehnergard 2012), BH nātan. The masculine of A-TA-NA-TE ʾAtanat, the feminine of the root with I-y > ʾ. Ugarit writes the same name ia-ta-nu and ia-te-nu (DULAT 977; Kinlaw 1967, 135), E for a within it. Weak point: there the e falls on the second syllable; every held form has ya in the first.
