## Commentary

HT 10b .3 KA-SA-RU 6, a personnel entry on a face written over an erasure; the three signs are clear (GORILA I 21). Ebla ga-za-ru₁₂, read /qaṣṣāru/ 'fuller' or /kaṣṣāru/ 'donkey driver' (Pagan 1998, rows 1979–1980), sign for sign with its vowels; Sanmartín files ga-za-ru₁₂ under q-ṣ-r 'to be short' (GlOS 1, 355). Linear B ka-sa-ro is a man's name at Knossos (KN C(2) 912.8, Dv 1450), with no Greek interpretation; final -RU against Linear B -ro, as I-TA-NU against u-ta-no. Ugarit has DUMU ka-ša₂-ri (ORACC P503760). Rivals: Kaṣṣāru 'donkey driver'; Amorite Kašerum (Gelb 1980, no. 4000), √kṯr (3548), which needs S for ṯ, against KA-TA-RE. One attestation.
