A personal name, Qidaru 'Dark', from √ḳ-d-r 'be dark', as Heb. Qēdār, Ishmael's son and an Arabian people (Gen 25:13), from qādar 'be dark, mourn'. Rival: PS *ḳidr- 'earthenware' (Ar. qidr, Heb. qədērā, Aram. qidrā), the noun of A-KI-DA-RO (KH Wa 1002) ʾa-qidrū 'the earthenware', with A- the article or a prosthetic aleph. Two attestations, both lists of people.
