TL Za 1 A-TA-I-*301-WA-JA · O-SU-QA-RE ·, the deity slot of the libation formula. ʾō Sukar: vocative ʾō (Geʿez ʾo-, Leslau 1987, 1) + Egyptian Skr 'Sokar', final E dead after r (di Mino, Ya Diktu). Rival: Ušḫara, Ugaritic úšḫr, only as úšḫr ḫlmẓ 'Ušḫara the Snake' (KTU 1.115:2, 12; DULAT 113), from Akk. Išḫara, with QA where KA writes ḫ. Rival: ʾAšqur, an Amorite DN in names at Mari and Alalakh (aš-kur-ᵈIM), with O for ʾa; Sanmartín derives it from |S-ḳ-r| 'the very high one' (GlOS 2, 195; cf. Akk. zaqāru), Gelb from ŚKR 'to remember' (AS 21, nos. 949–950). One witness.
