## Commentary

ZA 11b .1–.2 E-TO-RI-[?] *516 / SA-*301-RI · GRA+PA 1 / I OLIV 1. šannāri 'Cat', with *301 = na: SA-NA-RI, s-n-r, as Arabic sinnawr 'the cat' (Lane 1445), where Akk. šurānu has r before n; the geminate nn unwritten. Ugarit has the name: si-na-ri, sí-na-a-r[i] (Kinlaw 1967, 101), read 'cat' (GlOS 2, 201). Rival: a name from a town, as DULAT derives Ugaritic snr from Sināru (DULAT 753). Weak point: *301 = na is a proposed value. One attestation.
