## Commentary

IO Za 2 .2, in the frame TA-NA-[X]-U-TI-NU shared with IO Za 6 (X = I-*301) and IO Za 11 (]U-TI-NU). TA- is the 2fs prefix, -NA- the N-stem n- unassimilated before r, where Hebrew assimilates it, תֵּרָצֶה tērāṣeh 'it shall be accepted' (Lipiński 1997, §41.16), RA-TE √r-ṣ-y 'be acceptable', the Hebrew Niphal of Lev 1:4, U the indicative -u of yaqtulu before the subject pronoun (Ugaritic ʾargmk /ʾargumu-kī/, KTU 1.3 III 21), with the modal 'may' sense (Huehnergard 2012, 55–56), and -u 'remains attached directly to the verbal base, and pronominal object suffixes follow it' (Bjøru and Pat-El 2021, 56). TI is the archaic 2fs nominative subject clitic, the clitics drawn from the nominative pronouns and usable on other bases (Pat-El 2025, 330, 332), extended to a finite host, NU the 1cp object 'us' (PS *-na, Ugaritic -n/-nā, Eblaite accusative -nu in i-ne-sa-nu, ARET XVI 16, Kogan and Krebernik 2021, 754). Cf. Enūma eliš I 119–120 ul taremmināsi 'you (f.) do not love us', Josh 2:18 hôradtēnû and Ugaritic tšqy-n (KTU 1.19 IV 53). Byblos marks person twice in the same way, ta-šap-pár-ta 'why were you sent?' (EA 102:10), and PS Za 2 writes TA-NA-I-*301-TI (di Mino, Ya Diktu 14). TE writes *ṣ́ after r with the T-series, as A-RA-TU ʾarṣ́- (PS *ʾar(V)ṣ̂-) does. One attestation.
