## Commentary

ZA 10a TA-NA-TE 2 heads a list of single entries, with A-TA-NA-TE 1 the fourth. Tanāt, as the signs write it, a variant of Tinit, the goddess TNT, on √t-n-n: Ugaritic tnn 'dragon' (DULAT 860). TA writes the t, or the ṯ of ṯ-n-n, as scribes wrote ṯ in the T-series (di Mino, Ya Diktu 16–17 n. 27). TI-NI-TA writes Tinit with i, TA-NA-TI and TA-NA-TE with a. Cf. Linear B ta-na-to (KN De 1618). Rival: a form of A-TA-NA-TE ʾAtanat (√y-t-n), as Ya Diktu 45 relates it. See TA-NA-TI.
