## Commentary

*49 (AB049), PALM/TREE by its pictorial form, four tokens at three sites: TO-*49-RE (PE 2), DA-U-*49 (HT 120), U-*49 whole (ZA 10b) and ]U-*49 after a left break (HT 126a). tamir, PS *tamr- 'date palm': Heb. tāmār (HALOT 1756), with Ug. syllabic [ta]-ma-ru (HALOT 1756), Arb. tamr 'dates, the fruit of the palm-tree' (Lane 317). TO-*49-RE gives t-m-r with *49 in its proposed value mi, and DA-U-*49 reads Dawmi. Weak point: *49 = mi is a proposed value; Linear B writes *49 beside ordinary MI in tu-*49-mi. See TO-MI-RE.
