## Attestations

- [PK Za 11](<https://linear-a.ai/texts/PKZa11/index.md>): SA-SA-RA-ME U-NA-RU-KA-NA-TI — so, behold, may you gather!

## Commentary

PK Za 11, after A-SA-SA-RA-ME and before I-PI-NA-MI-NA: U-NA /wannā/ or /winnā/ 'so, behold' + RU /lū/ 'may' + KA-NA-TI /kanasti/, 2fs suffix form of √k-n-s 'gather': 'so, behold, may you gather!' (di Mino, Ya Diktu). The coda /s/ is unwritten, per the Linear B rule that drops syllable-final s before a stop (Ventris and Chadwick 1956, 45; pa-ka-na /phasgana/). Hebrew has the same opening sequence: הֵן לוּ יְהִי hēn lū yəhî 'behold, may it be' (Gen 30:34). Cf. KA-NA-SI /kanāsī/ 'my gathering'. Rivals: a K-N-S-T feminine collective /kanast/, 'may there be a gathering', with lū introducing a verbless injunction as in Akkadian (Huehnergard 1997, §§22.2, 29.3; cf. later Hebrew kəneset 'assembly'); /kānastī/ 'I gathered', paralleled by Biblical Hebrew כָּנַסְתִּי (Eccl 2:8), a 1cs verb; √k-n-š, see U-NA-KA-NA-SI. One attestation.
