## In Linear A

- [PA-RA](<https://linear-a.ai/lexicon/PA-RA/index.md>) (parr(u)): skin, fleece (a hide with its wool)

## Notes

Hebrew parwā 'fur' is Modern Hebrew; Rabbinic Hebrew has only the Temple's liškat ha-parwā, where the hides of offerings were salted (b. Yoma 19a), and b. Yoma 35a explains the name as a magus (ʾamgūšā). Lane 2390: farwa is 'a skin, but not unless having upon it fur or wool'.

## Reflexes: East Semitic

- Akkadian: pāru, parru, bāru SB on [AHw 836]; paru A (parru, baru) (CAD P 209). (gloss withheld)

## Reflexes: Northwest Semitic

- Syrian Aramaic: partā (pl. parrē) 'bran; husk, chaff (of seed); dandruff (scale of the head)' [Brock 591]

## Reflexes: Arabic

## Reflexes: Ethiopic and Modern South Arabian

- Geez: farra [LGz 166] (gloss withheld)
