## Commentary

A steatite reel seal (CMS XII 96, Metropolitan Museum), read from the impression: face a (palm/volute relief) I-DA-DA, face b (lozenge-net relief) A-RO-TE, as the CMS drawing labels them; Younger letters the faces the other way (Younger, Linear A Texts, citing Raison–Pope 1994, 242–43). Unattributed Cretan provenance.
