## Commentary

HT89 is a personnel list followed by a separate commodity section. A-SA-RA₂ is one group on the tablet: /ʾasāra/ 'locked house, work-house', with the vowels of Ebla ʔa₅-za-ru₁₂ (GlOS 1, 46), CANDIDATE; rivals /ʾasīr-/ 'captives' (Ug. åsr, DULAT 111; Akk. asīru, CAD A/2 331–32) and A + SA-RA₂ 'concerning the queen'. Uchitel includes *305, A542, MA-I-MI, VIR+*313a, and TA-RA among qualifications of personnel. Their counts sum exactly: 23+22+24+13+5 = KU-RO 87. Only after that total do A303/CYP, AB30/FIC, and AB131a/VIN appear. *307 is dubur 'sanctuary' (PK Za 8 = PK Za 15); MA-I-MI 'water(-men)' and TA-RA 'gatekeepers' are SPECULATIVE.
