## Commentary

Fragmentary rim inscription on a steatite conical cup (HM 504). GORILA IV, 23 transcribes A-SA-SA-RA-[; the vessel breaks immediately after RA, so no ending or following syntax survives. The likely formulaic restoration A-SA-SA-RA-[ME] is supported by complete A-SA-SA-RA-ME at IO Zb 10 and recurrent JA-SA-SA-RA-ME. Amorite IA-SA-RA-AM (Gelb 1980, no. 3448) supports √y-š-r with accusative -am. A- beside JA- may reflect a dialectal or scribal omission of initial y/ya, but the fragment cannot prove the development or establish a title or divine name.
