## Notes

PS \*brṣ 'to shine, to be bright' (CDG 108 apud SEDonline 1322). Akk. derived birṣu 'a luminous phenomenon' (CAD B 260). SEDonline 1322 also sets here Mhr. bərōṣ 'to strip, to take or ask for the clothes off someone’s back', bərēṣ 'stark naked' (ML 53). Cf. 1875 \*baraṣ- 'scabies; lepra'.
