## Notes

PWS \*mrḥ 'to be proud, valiant' (Kogan 2015: 462 apud SEDonline 923). The root is most prominently represented by PES \*mrḥ 'to guide, to lead' (SEDonline 923, 924). Cf. 2453 \*mrḥ/ḫ 'spread on oinment'. Lane 2705 marks Arabic mariḥa 'he exulted' and 'he was proud and self-conceited' (Qurʾān 17:37, 31:18) assumed tropical beside mariḥa 'it (a water-skin) leaked'.
