HALOT 756 sets Hebrew slʾ pu. 'paid (with fine gold)' (Lam 4:2, a reading it queries) beside Arabic salaʾa and Sab s3lʾ 'to pay'; Biella 505 compares Hebrew slʾ 'be weighed'. Sab s3lʾn is the tribute-paying class (Biella 506; SD 138, with ?).
