## Reflexes

| Language | Form | Sources | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arabic | sāṭa 'he mixed (it)' (Lane 1466); masūṭ, sawīṭ 'mixed'; miswāṭ 'a thing with which one mixes a thing' (Lane 1467) | Lane 1466; Lane 1467 | |
| Geez | soṭa, śoṭa; sawaṭa; masoṭ (LGz. 521) | LGz. 521 | gloss withheld |

A form keeps its source's gloss only when the source is public domain or openly licensed.

## Notes

LGz. 521 sets swṭ II apart from swṭ III 'flagellate' (K0540) and asks whether it is swṭ I 'pour > add'. Lane 1466 sets 'he whipped him' apart from 'he mixed it' in the same article; the native lexicographers' 'whip, so called because it mixes the flesh with the blood' (Lane 1467) is folk etymology.
