## Notes

HALOT 1024 gives MHeb. and JArm. 'lock of hair, ringlet, thread or tassel displayed at the edge of a garment', and Mnd. ṣuṣiata 'plaiting'. Akk. ṣiṣītu 'a movable part of the loom' and Arb. ṣīṣat, ṣīṣīyat 'a tool used in weaving' (HALOT 1024) are other senses. Not 2879 \*gadil- 'twisted tassel' nor 1146 \*ṣūṣ- 'chick'.
