## Notes

The singular is written syllabically only in field names (ṣa-i, ṣa-a-i 'basin field'); the plural ṣa-ʾa-tu 'bowls' stands in an economic text (PRU 6 163 r. 4'). Huehnergard compares Arabic ṣāʿ, a vessel and a measure, also 'a narrow, depressed piece of ground; a piece of arable land' (Lane 1746 apud UVST 170).
