Commentary
PH 6 .1 I-NA-WA · A-RI and .3 A-RI. harrī ‘mountain of’, the construct before a divine name, genitive -ī (nawā harrī DN ‘dwelling of the mountain of DN’): Hebrew har (HALOT 254), Ugaritic hr ‘mountain’ (DULAT 341), the Amarna gloss ḫa-ar-ri on ḪUR.SAG (EA 74:20), Emar harru (Pentiuc 2001, 57); h unwritten, as in A-KI-DA-RO. Rivals: ʿalē ‘upon, for’ and ʾarī ‘lion’; the A-RA/A-RI/A-RU triple of a, i and u argues an inflected noun against a frozen preposition, and the house dative is la- (RE/RA). Rival parse: harr-ī ‘my mountain’, 1cs suffix, an Ebla name (Pagan 1998, row 789). HT 141 .1 A-RI-[ runs into the break after RI (GORILA I 239), and PH 28a A-RI-JA-[ breaks after JA.
