Commentary

On the HT Wc 3014 roundel, KU-MI-NA (side a) and QE (side b, the standalone qab-measure √q-b-b before the CAP caprid logogram) are separate entries. A Wanderwort: Sumerian U.GAMUN, Akk. kamūnu, Ug. kmn, Linear B ku-mi-no, Greek κύμινον; KU-MI-NA has the skeleton of ku-mi-no, a Semitic loan in Linear B. HT 54a.2 reads ]KU-MI-NA-QE[, broken at both ends (GORILA I 105). A-KU-MI-NA and A-DU-KU-MI-NA on ZA 10a are names from the homograph √k-m-n ‘hide, shelter’ (HALOT 481).
