Commentary

HT 31: written on the *402-VS vessel logogram, quantity 10, one of Gordon’s four vessel words on the tablet (Gordon 1966 §115). PA₃ writes ba: Heb. qubaʿat (קֻבַּעַת) ‘goblet, cup’ (Isa 51:17, 22), a vessel term with an original b, the ʿayin unwritten. Rival: Gordon’s qa-pa kappu (√k-p-p ‘palm, vessel’; §115), whose geminate pp resists the voicing PA₃ would need. One attestation.
