Commentary

HT 85b .4 RE-DI-SE 1, eighth of eleven single-unit entries under KI-KI-RA-JA ·, between ME-ZA 1 and WA-DU-NI-MI 1; written on .3, erased, and written again on .4 (GORILA I 133). Egyptian rdj⸗s: ⸗s written -SE as in DI-DI-KA-SE, rdj ‘give’ as in PA-TA-DA. Same name as RA-TI-SE (HT 6b), which also stands beside WA-DU-NI-MI. Semitic scripts write Egyptian d with ṭ, never d (Hoch 1994, 427), and Linear A, with no ṭ series, writes it DI here and TI there. Rival: Safaitic RDS, Ar. radasa ‘to stone, break’, one witness (Harding 1971, 275).
