Commentary

KN Zg 55, a steatite disk seal: face b JA-SA-JA, the whole text, in the owner’s slot. Yašʿaya ‘(DN) has helped’, hypocoristic, as Amorite Jišʿ-ija (Gelb 1980, no. 3768), ʿayin unwritten. Weak point: the root’s interdental would be written in the T series, so the spelling needs a donor form after *ṯ > š. Rival: an abbreviation of JA-SA-SA-RA (Younger). One attestation.
