Notes

PS *bkr 'to be early' (EDA I 156, ◊P0255; SEDonline 1832). Arb. bakar-, bukrat- 'early morning', bākūrat- 'the first of fruit' (Lane 239). Cf. 3148 *bVkVr- 'firstborn'. Hajouz 2013, 163 reads VE 243 ba-ga-lu-um as /bakkāru(m)/ 'early', where Krebernik 1983, 13 has 'first-fruit offering'.
