Notes

Old Aramaic spells *ḏ with z. HALOT 267 calls Arabic ḏaḥl 'thirst for revenge' the basic form, and also compares Arabic zaḥala (z for *ḏ, irregular). Distinct from 2856 *zVḥVl- 'crawl, creep'. HALOT 267's Ug. dḥl is read tdḥṣ in DULAT 266, tdḥl being Cunchillos's reading.
