Notes

PS *ɣbṭ 'to be tied, girded' (Kogan 2001: 266 apud SEDonline 2087). Akk. cf. nībittu 'a girdle' (CAD N₂ 201); ebēṭu 'to have cramps' is another verb (2073 *ḥbṭ). Hajouz 2013, 37–38 reads VE 124 sa-b[ù]-tum, su-bù-tum as /šaʾbuṭum/, /šuʾbuṭum/ (Š inf.) and ù-bù-tum as /ʾubbuṭum/ (D inf.), and VE 253 ì-ba-tum as /ʾabṭum/, from ʾ-b-ṭ 'to bind'.
