Notes

Al-Jallad (2026, 66) compares Arabic ḫalaṣa 'to become safe, free from difficulty or destruction' and Hebrew ḥlṣ nif. 'to be delivered', pi. 'to tear out, to rescue'; Arabic and Safaitic write ḫ against Geʿez ḥ in laḥaṣa.
