Notes

Proto-MSA *mi-ḳraf-at- 'shoulder blade' (SEDonline 1382). Derived from the verbal root *ḳrp 'to scratch off', the shoulder blade being 'used as a broom to clean out a pen-cave' (ML 235) (Kogan 2015: 562 apud SEDonline 1382). Cf. 1102 *ḳ(ʷ)irap- 'bark; peel'.
