Notes
LGz. 464 sets Hebrew rāgaʿ 'form a crust, come to rest' beside the Geez and notes the sense 'be calm, quiet' in both; it keeps Hebrew rgʿ 'stir (the sea)' (Jb 26:12, Is 51:15) apart, with Nöldeke and Buhl, and calls Barth's comparison with Arabic rajaʿa 'return' unlikely. HALOT 1188 compares Geez ragʿa 'coagulated, frozen', takes one Hebrew root, and cites Delekat's oldest meaning 'to contract, get lumpy'. Not 153 *ʕalaḳ- 'coagulated blood' or 3136 *šqṭ 'to be at rest'.
