Notes
HALOT 1387 sets II šbḥ beside Arb. sabaḫa 'to be unperturbed, be calm', II 'to make calm, pacify'; Lane 1291 cites Zj that sabḥ (sbḥ, 'the being still, quiet', Lane 1289) and sabḫ are nearly the same in meaning. Not the homonym šbḥ 'to praise' (HALOT 1387), 350 *šabīḫ- 'piece of cotton', K0506 *šabat- 'rest' nor 3430 *šbḥ 'to spread the legs'.
