Notes

Aramaic šṭr 'document' (Babylonian dockets, Nerab, Nab., Palm., JAr., Syr.) is a loan from NB šaṭāru 'document', and sṭrw (AD 7:7) can scarcely be the Aramaic reflex of the verb; Canaanite, Akkadian, ESA and Arabic šṭr are cognates (Kaufman 1974, 101 n. 352).
