Commentary
Commodity ideogram *316, six occurrences on five documents at Khania and Phaistos. On the nodules KH Wa 1001 and KH Wa 1002 the KI complement (*316+KI) gives the initial syllable /ki/. Akk. kiššanu, a leguminous plant, issued in the Alalakh ration lists (CAD K 456). On KH 91 *316 1 13/20 follows VIN (wine) in a rations list with GRA, NI (figs), *401+RU and *401+RA; on PH 1a it is allocated to named individuals (DI-RA-DI-NA, JA) with CYP. Weak point: the comparison is Akkadian alone.
