Commentary
ZA 10a .4–5 DA-I-PI-TA 1, in a name list after A-DU-KU-MI-NA 1 (GORILA III 169); ZA 8 DA-I-PI-TA 2½, before KA-I-RO 4, by another scribe (GORILA III 165). ṭayyibat- ‘good (f.)’, fem. of qattil ṭayyib-: DA writes ṭ as in Amorite DA-BA-TUM Ṭaybatum (Gelb no. 1409) and Ebla da-bù ‘good’ (GlOS 2, 311); I writes yyi, the gemination unmarked. LB da-i-pi-ta heads a catalogue of men at Knossos (KN Bk 799), a man’s name (DMic I 149): the name carried into Mycenaean Crete. Rivals: DA-I + PI-TA, DA-I dayyu ‘enough’ (HT 12) with PI-TA otherwise only inside PI-TA-JA; DA + I-PI-TA, I-PI-TA unattested. See OLE+TA.
