  1. SY Za 6DA-SE-RA-TE

Commentary

SY Za 6, on the wall of a chalice-shaped serpentine libation table below the rim: one group of four signs, no divider (Muhly and Olivier 2008, 209–210). SE uncertain; DA (SA not excluded), RA and TE probable. DA-SE-RA-TE writes DA-ŠU-RA-TUM sign for sign without mimation: SE writes š, TE the feminine -t. Amorite š writes PS *ṯ, so dašur- is Arabic daṯara ‘became old’ (Lane 851). The sole word on a libation table: the dedicant’s name, or ‘the Old One (f.)’ as an epithet. Rival: SA for DA. One attestation. See DA-TA-RA.
