Commentary
HT 85b: KI-KI-RA-JA · heads the face over eleven entries of one unit each (KI-RE-TA₂ 1, QE-KA 1 … WA-DU-NI-MI 1, MA-DI 1, QA-*310-I 1). HT 85a is headed A-DU · *307+*307 · VIR+[?], so the tablet counts men, and a group label fits the heading. -JA writes the gentilic -āya: the men of the Kikkar, kikkār ‘territory around a place’, as the Kikkar of the Jordan (Gen 13:10; HALOT 473). KI-KI-RA writes kikkər-, the stem before an ending, as construct kikkəráyim ‘two talents’ (2 Kgs 5:23). Rivals: kikkār ‘round loaf’ (1 Sam 2:36; HALOT 473), one to each man; a personal name heading the roster. KE-KI-RU (HT 94b) is on the same root. One attestation.
