Commentary
HT 27a .5 ]SA-RA-DI 5, broken directly before SA (GORILA I 49), a counted row in the personnel tally under TI-NI-TA · *307 (KU-RO 335). Hurrian šāl(a)=ardi, šāla ‘daughter’ with the collective -ardi, the thematic vowel lost before it: šāl=ardi ‘group of daughters’ (Wilhelm, "Hurrian," 103); ša-la-ar-di at Mari and Ugarit (Laroche 1980, 213); šal(a)=arde ‘Tochterschaft’ (Wegner 2000, 51). ša-la-ar-di gives SA-RA-DI sign for sign: coda r unwritten, RA for /la/. Laroche and Wegner gloss an abstract, ‘qualité de fille,’ ‘Tochterschaft’; Wilhelm’s collective fits a counted row. The break allows a longer compound, as Mari sindišalardi ‘Siebentochterschaft’ (Richter 2012, 388). One witness.
