Commentary

HT 63 .1 SU-PU₂, whole and undotted, the third entry under *305 · TE 1, after KA-TI 1, against the tablet’s upper right corner; no numeral survives, and GORILA’s normalized line brackets the end, SU-PU₂[ (GORILA I 118–119). ṣu-bu, PU₂ for bu as in DU-PU₂-RE dubur, the final ʾu unwritten as in TA-PA tappāʾu: the Amorite name Ṣubʾu (Gelb 1980, nos. 6581–6582). Linear B su-po (KN Dc 5812) and su-pu-wo (KN C 912) are men’s names at Knossos (DMic II 304). Cf. HT 8b .1 SU-PU₂-*188 1. Rival: ṣābu ‘workers, troop’ (PS *ṣ̂Vbaʾ-), a collective under the personnel sign *305. One witness.
