Commentary

Context: Gold pin invoking El by two epithets (the Kinsman who comes forth, Creator of the Sea), then naming the island. Both A-MA-WA-SI (masculine participle) and KA-NI-JA-MI (masculine construct participle) are grammatically masculine, pointing to El rather than Athirat. QA-KI-SE-NU-TI names the dedicant, a Hurrian-type name in -šenni. Closes with a 1cs verb, ‘I make ready’.

Unprovenanced gold pin with shallow incision. Word 4 reads QA-KI-SE-NU-TI, KI as in GORILA IV 146–47 and the photograph. Word 5 is a 1cs prefix form of √ʿ-t-d.
