Notes

HALOT 339 gives Arb. ḥaffa 'to surround, enclose' for I ḥpp and Iraqi Arb. ḫōufa 'nuptial chamber' beside ḥuppā; II ḥpp 'to wash, rub off' is a separate root. Not 1754 *ḫVpw/y- 'pack, cover, conceal', 3230 *ḥp 'to walk barefoot' nor 1281 *ḫaʾ- 'throne canopy'.
