Notes

HALOT 300 separates I ḥwš 'hurry' from II ḥwš 'feel, be painful' (Arb. ḥassa 'to feel'); the 'feel' root is 639. LGz. 250 joins Geez ḥws 'move, shake' with Hebrew ḥwš, Ugaritic ḥš and Akkadian ḫâšu; CAD Ḫ 147 takes ḫâšu C 'to shake' as possibly ḫâšu A.
