Notes

Theonym of uncertain etymology, no established Semitic root. Attested chiefly in Moabite (Mesha Stele) and Hebrew polemical texts. HALOT 481 lists Ugaritic kmṯ in divine lists, a reading that is disputed. Sallaberger 2018, 132 reads Ebla Kamiš as 'the subduer'; Antalík 1998, 44 calls the theonym opaque.
