Notes
HALOT 492 takes the Hebrew (Jr 4:29, Jb 30:6, Sir 40:14) as an Aramaic loanword (Wagner 130) and compares Akkadian kāpu (AHw. 445a). CAD K 191 dates kāpu SB: the lexical lists Kagal and Proto-Diri, and the inscriptions of Ashurnasirpal II and Shalmaneser III. Not 3322 *kp 'to bend, curve'.
