Notes

Al-Jallad (2026, 91) compares Aramaic mḥq 'to wipe out, erase' (CAL, s.v. mḥq v.) and mḥq, mḥqʾ (mḥāq, mḥāqā) 'erasure' (CAL, s.v. mḥq n.). The one Safaitic attestation reads sḥq w mḥq 'total obliteration' (AWS 81).
