Notes

Central vassal-logistics term in Amarna correspondence. Distinct from generic √n-t-n 'to give'—this is the specific nominal for troop provisions and palace-supplied commodities. Moran 1992, 358 n. 1 compares Phoenician mṭnʾ 'erected stele' (Krahmalkov 279), which stands in 3485 *ṭnʾ 'to set up, erect (a monument)'.
