Notes

PCS *ngw 'to go out, away' (Kogan 2015: 327 apud SEDonline 1413). SEDonline 1413 also sets here Sab. ngw 'to give out', mngw 'event, incident, outcome' (SD 94), Min. ngw 'to promulgate, notify, proclaim' (LM 66) and Qat. mngw 'result, outcome' (LIQ 102). Tgr. näga, Mhr. nīgi, Jib. nígi, Soq. ngy are Arabisms (SEDonline 1413). Al-Jallad (2026, 101) compares Sabaic ngw 'to announce, request', ngw 'speech, tidings' (Sabaweb, s.v. ngw).
