Notes
Al-Jallad (2026, 99–100) compares Arabic nafrah 'near kinsmen who go forth with one to war' (Lane 2825), nafara 'to take fright and flee' (Lane 2823), Syriac npr 'to shy away from' (CAL, s.v. npr v.) and Ugaritic npr 'to fly, start to fly', 'to escape, leave' (DULAT 626).
